Established in over 97 countries, such as Honduras and Peru both visited by Joannie with the organization, World Vision is one of the world’s largest International Solidarity NGOs.

At age 55, on the eve of the Vancouver Olympic Games during which Joannie would reach the podium, her mother, Thérèse Rochette, sadly succumbed to a fatal heart attack.

Joannie is sensibly inclined to all matters of cardiology that are daily focuses and promises of the Montreal Heart Institute: research, care, teaching, prevention, rehabilitation and new technology evaluation.

Choosing to study Medicine herself in 2015, she proudly partners with the Montreal Heart Institute Foundation and supports the world-renowned cardiology establishment from the province of Quebec.
